The violence related to protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens in parts of India moved to Delhi, with Jamia Millia Islamia becoming a battleground on Friday. At the protest against the legislation called by Jamia Teachers’ Association (JTA), hundreds of students gathered and began a march to Parliament, but violence broke out, forcing police to resort to a baton charge.
