The state public health department on Friday issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be followed by customers and owners after the state government issued a notification to open gyms from Sunday. As per the SOPs, while it is mandatory to use a mask at all times inside the gym, the state government has allowed the use of cloth and tightly woven masks as use of N-95 masks can cause difficulty in breathing. Group exercises and facilities like steam, sauna and shower will not be allowed.
