In spite of a significant decline in occupancy, nursing homes taken over by the civic body cannot return to non-Covid work for now, the BMC has said. Similarly, the state government will extend capping of fees for Covid treatment and the 80:20 scheme in private hospitals till November to ensure beds are available, considering rising cases in the rest of Maharashtra and the possibility of a second wave.
